It has challenged me intellectually into acknowledging the many intersections of identity that I wasn able to learn about if I were to have stayed in my shell of my hometown or environment. Growing up in a predominantly white community, it was through UCLA that I came to appreciate my heritage, explore the fundamental tenets of intersectionality, community solidarity, and identity organizing. I been able to grow closer to the multiple facets of my identity through the people I me here, and it through the amazing communities I discovered and joined that really give me the motivation to keep going.
